On August 15, 2024, 24-year-old Jonathan Benami was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 70 years in prison by a Tarrant County court. The conviction follows an investigation by the Fort Worth Police Department into the killing of 76-year-old Tony Clark.
On September 29, 2021, Benami attacked Clark, a contractor working on a house in the 1300 block of Eagle Drive, Carter Riverside area, Fort Worth. Clark was discovered unconscious in a pool of blood, with 11 stab wounds to his chest and torso. Benami fled the scene and was later apprehended after resisting arrest. The two men were strangers to each other.
