On September 8, 2024, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 3600 block of Dixon Avenue in South Dallas. According to the preliminary investigation, a disturbance occurred at the location when unknown suspects began shooting.
Shortly after, a vehicle crash was reported, and officers discovered 50-year-old Danyeal Garrett shot inside a vehicle. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported Garrett to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
