On Friday night, September 6th, Denton Police and Fire responded to a severe collision involving a pickup truck and a wheelchair-bound pedestrian at the 1700 block of McKinney Street. The accident occurred around 8:50 p.m.
79-year-old Eladio E. Santiago, a resident of the Veranda Apartments on McKinney Street, was transported to Medical City Denton, where he was pronounced deceased.
McKinney Street was closed near Mack Park while officers investigated the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has determined that Santiago died from blunt force injuries.
