Convicted Felon Sentenced to 60 Years in Prison for Aggravated Assault and Crime Spree in Dallas

Tevin Wilson

Tevin Wilson, a 30-year-old man with a history of aggravated burglary convictions in Memphis, Tennessee, has been sentenced after a trial. Wilson, previously convicted of aggravated burglary on three separate occasions, was considered a felon, exposing him to a punishment range of 25-99 years or life in prison if convicted in this case.

Shortly after his release from the Tennessee Department of Corrections, Wilson moved to Texas, bringing two firearms with him. On or about May 26, 2023, he was captured on video breaking into a home while armed. Following the burglary, Wilson shot a homeless man in a park. The victim survived the shooting. Wilson then returned to the burglary scene, stole a car, and led police on a high-speed chase before fleeing the scene.

A few weeks later, Wilson stole another car and shot and killed a man on South Blvd in Dallas. However, upon further investigation, the murder charge was dismissed. While still driving the second stolen vehicle, Wilson fled to Denver, Colorado, where he was eventually arrested.

Wilson's testimony during the trial was unconvincing, leading the jury to find him guilty. He was sentenced to 25 years for the unlawful possession of a firearm and 35 years for the aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.
