The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office announced that 20-year-old Ivan Powe pled guilty and was sentenced to 30 years in prison for engaging in organized criminal activity-murder. Powe is a documented member of the Bone Crushing Gorillas criminal street gang. He was a passenger in a vehicle and shot into a crowd of people in south Fort Worth on November 30, 2022.
An innocent bystander, 32-year-old Cortney Deshun Guy, was killed. According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office, Guy died from a gunshot wound to his torso. He was pronounced dead at JPS Hospital.
The Fort Worth Police Department investigated the case.
