Arlington Police Arrest Three for School Threats: Two Students and One Adult Charged

The Arlington Police Department has responded to social media threats against Arlington schools. The department assures the community that all reported threats are taken seriously, thoroughly investigated, and met with decisive action to maintain school safety.

On Thursday, Arlington High School administrators alerted School Resource Officers about a potential threat on social media, believed to be influenced by recent similar posts. The threat was traced to 18-year-old Kevin Martinez-Molina, who is not a student at Arlington High School. Martinez-Molina was located, questioned, and admitted to creating the post as a prank. He was arrested and booked into the Arlington City Jail on a charge of Terroristic Threat, a felony.

In addition, a Gunn Junior High student was arrested Thursday for making a verbal threat against the school, which was reported by concerned witnesses. The student faces a charge of Terroristic Threat and was taken to the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center. Due to the student’s juvenile status, their name cannot be released.

The department also reported another arrest this morning involving a Lamar High School student who sent a threatening message about violence against a staff member. The student was charged with Terroristic Threat and transported to the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center. As with the previous case, the student’s name is not disclosed due to their juvenile status.

The Arlington Police Department emphasizes that any behavior disrupting students' learning or causing fear will not be tolerated. They continue to encourage parents to discuss the serious consequences of making threats with their children.
