Riley Dodge Family

The Carroll Independent School District has appointed Riley Dodge as the new Executive Director of Athletics. Coach Dodge, who has been the Head Football Coach and Boys' Athletic Coordinator for Carroll since 2018, will take on the expanded role while continuing to coach the Dragons football team. In his new position, Dodge will oversee all athletic programs within Carroll ISD, maintaining the district’s standard of excellence across various sports.

“I am honored to step into this new role and continue leading the Dragons to future success and Lone Star Cup titles,” Dodge said. “I look forward to working alongside our amazing coaches in Carroll ISD to help our student-athletes reach their full potential.”

Dodge's appointment underscores Carroll ISD's dedication to fostering excellence in both academics and athletics. Under his leadership as head football coach, the Dragons have compiled a record of 80-8, secured five district championships, three regional titles, and reached the state championship game in 2020. Dodge was named the Tom Landry Coach of the Year in 2019 and the Texas 6A Coach of the Year in 2020.

Before coaching at Carroll, Dodge served as Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback Coach at Northwest High School and Marcus High School. He also worked as an Offensive Analyst at the University of Texas and as a Graduate Assistant at Texas A&M University. As a college athlete, Dodge played for the University of North Texas and McNeese State University, earning honors such as Sun Belt All-Conference Quarterback and the Shawn Kramer Most Inspirational Player Award. As a high school player, Dodge was a standout quarterback for the Dragons, part of three state championship teams, and was named Texas High School Player of the Year in both 2006 and 2007.

Dodge and his wife, Alexis, are Carroll graduates, and they have four children: Tate (9), Landry (6), Blakely (4), and Charlotte (6 months).

“Coach Dodge has proven himself to be a dedicated and visionary leader both on and off the field," said Dr. Jeremy Glenn, Superintendent of Carroll ISD. "His passion for the development of our student-athletes and his commitment to our district’s values make him the perfect choice for this expanded role. We are excited to see how his leadership will enhance all of our athletic programs.”

Dodge is the first to serve as both head football coach and athletic director since Bob Ledbetter, a multi-time state champion, retired in 1996. He is the ninth Athletic Director in Carroll ISD history.
