On Sunday, September 15th, 2024, officers responded to a suspected road rage shooting near the 4400 block of East Belknap between 4:15 A.M. and 4:45 A.M. Haltom City Police Department (HCPD) detectives are seeking assistance from the public, particularly anyone with access to video cameras near the scene.
The two vehicles involved were traveling northeast on East Belknap from Bernice Street and continued through the light at Layton and Belknap. The suspect vehicle is described as a sedan occupied by four Hispanic males. One of the passengers reportedly fired at the other vehicle, striking a 16-year-old male. The victim is currently in critical condition at a local hospital. Due to his age, the identity of the victim is being withheld.
Initial information suggests that the incident was isolated, and there is no known connection between the victim and the shooter.
