The Mansfield Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in the 800 block of Cutting Horse Drive. Officers responded to a welfare check at approximately 4:36 p.m. and discovered an unresponsive male suffering from a gunshot wound. The suspect or suspects had fled the scene before police arrived.
Upon arrival, officers found citizens performing CPR on the victim. Medics from the Mansfield Fire Department continued life-saving efforts before transporting the victim to a local hospital. Despite their efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the victim and notify his next of kin. Mansfield police detectives, led by Detective Jorge Ramirez, are actively investigating to identify the suspect(s) involved in the shooting.
