The National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA) Announces Sponsors and Speakers for 2011 National Conference and Career Fair

The National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA) announces sponsors and speakers for the 2011 Conference and Career Fair, Sept. 15-17 at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. Wal-Mart returns as a fourth year conference sponsor committing an additional $10,000 towards the Women MBAs Scholarship program. Additional sponsors include Intel, Ernst & Young, Northwestern Mutual, Dell and Ford Motor Company.

 
This year’s speakers will address the conference theme, “Are You Ready?”
 
  • Margaret Heffernan – Entrepreneur, CEO, and writer will discuss her motto, "Let's not play the game, let's change it." Beginning an impressive career as a writer for the BBC and producing documentaries and dramatic films, Heffernan also authored three books, “Willful Blindness,” “Women on Top” and “The Naked Truth.” Later she developed interactive multimedia products leading to buying and selling internet businesses, serving as chief executive officer for InfoMation Corporation, ZineZone Corporation and iCAST Corporation. Heffernan blogs for the Huffington Post and BNET, and writes for Fast Company, Real Business, MORE, and other magazines around the world.
 
  • Ali BrownKnown as the voice for women’s entrepreneurial success and named "The Entrepreneurial Guru for Women" by Business News Daily. Since starting her first business 11 years ago in her tiny NYC apartment, she has grown the enterprise into millions and wants to share her expertise with NAWMBA members on how to develop a profitable business. As founder and CEO of Ali International LLC, Brown created a dynamic enterprise devoted to empowering women entrepreneurs around the world, and now connects more than 50,000 members throughout her online and offline programs.
 
  • Ginger Hardage – Senior vice president of culture & communications for Southwest Airlines, presents leadership as "Communicating the Mission, supporting your team with the necessary resources and getting out of their way so they can achieve great things." PRWeek named Hardage one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Public Relations, and she was distinguished as one of Texas' Most Powerful and Influential Women in 2010. Hardage received the National Public Relations Achievement Award in 2009; was named "Legendary Communicator" by Southern Methodist University in 2007; and was selected for the James C. Bowling Executive-In-Residence Lecture Series at the University of Kentucky in 2005.
