Skanska expands TX presence with new Irving office

Skanska USA's building business unit, a leading provider of construction management, preconstruction and design-build services, announced today that it has opened a new office in Dallas.

Skanska has overseen more than $150 million in commercial construction in the Metroplex over the past five years with projects in Dallas, Plano, McKinney, Ennis and Las Colinas.  The company’s latest area project is a 31,000-square-foot data center in Fort Worth that is expected to complete this month.

“By establishing a presence in Dallas, we expand our overall reach to include another critical population center in Texas that complements our existing offices in Houston, San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley” said Brian Freeman, executive vice president of Skanska’s Texas operations.

As Skanska pursues additional projects in North Texas, Freeman said he expects the company to emphasize its deep experience with Texas healthcare, higher education and office projects.  That experience includes:

  • The Ennis Regional Medical Center, a 137,000-square-foot hospital and medical center in Ennis;
  • Medical Center of McKinney, a 37,000-square-foot medical center in McKinney;
  • Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, a 282,000-square-foot hospital and medical office campus in San Antonio;
  • The 125,000-square-foot Liberal Arts and Arts & Humanities Building as well as the 166,000-square-foot Agricultural Headquarters Building at Texas A&M University’s main campus in College Station;
  • A 150,000-square-foot multi-purpose academic building for the University of Houston and Wharton Community College;
  • Alamo Colleges’ 215,000-square-foot center for health professions in San Antonio; and
  • A 110,000-square-foot multi-agency law enforecement center in Weslaco plus a 340,000-square-foot  high school in La Joya, both in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley.

Skanska’s Dallas office is located in Irving at 105 Decker Court, Suite 775.
