Dallas Police Investigating Deadly Shooting in East Oak Cliff

Dallas, TX – On September 7, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 1800 block of Mentor Avenue in the Cedar Crest neighborhood of East Oak Cliff.

When officers arrived, they discovered 31-year-old Eric Morgan unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported Morgan to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The case remains an active homicide investigation and is documented under case number 129310-2025.
