Dallas Man Sentenced to 50 Years for DART Bus Shooting

Dallas County prosecutors secured a conviction against 42-year-old Pedro Jose Suarez-Cintron for the murder of an unknown victim in a Dallas shooting. The incident occurred after both the victim and Suarez-Cintron disembarked from a DART bus, where they had no prior interaction. Surveillance footage captured the defendant following the victim and firing four shots, including one to the victim’s back.

Suarez-Cintron claimed he acted in self-defense, alleging the victim had punched and grabbed him. However, the video evidence directly contradicted his account, leading the jury to swiftly find him guilty.

Suarez-Cintron was sentenced to 50 years in prison. The case was led by Assistant District Attorney Kristen Jackson, with support from co-counsel Abby Parmelly, investigators, and victim advocates. The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office commended the DART Police Department for their role in the investigation.
