Man Killed in Shooting After Domestic Disturbance at Northwest Fort Worth Home

FORT WORTH, Texas - A man died after being shot during a confrontation at a northwest Fort Worth home Tuesday night, and police are searching for the person suspected of shooting him.

Fort Worth police responded around 10:27 p.m. Sept. 15 to a residence in the 6300 block of Sloop Street, near Eagle Mountain Lake.

Officers learned that a domestic disturbance had occurred between two adults at the home. Police said a witness then contacted another adult who was upstairs and told that person about the disturbance.

The person came downstairs, confronted the man involved in the disturbance and shot him at least once before leaving the scene, according to police.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police had not located the suspected shooter as of the latest update. Authorities did not release the suspect's name or provide a description.

Fort Worth homicide detectives are investigating. Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and there was no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will release the victim's identity and determine his cause and manner of death.
