Dallas Rapper MO3's Killer Gets Life Without Parole in Murder-for-Hire Case

DALLAS - A 27-year-old man convicted of killing Dallas rapper MO3 in a 2020 murder-for-hire plot has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

A jury found Kewon Dontrell White guilty of capital murder in the Nov. 11, 2020, killing of Melvin Noble, the Dallas rapper professionally known as MO3. White was convicted and sentenced Sept. 4.

Noble was driving north on Interstate 35E in Dallas when another vehicle approached his vehicle. According to prosecutors, a masked gunman got out and chased Noble on foot after Noble attempted to flee.

The gunman caught up with Noble and shot him multiple times with an assault-style rifle. Noble died from his injuries.

Investigators initially focused on identifying the shooter, but prosecutors said the evidence eventually pointed to a broader plan in which Noble was killed in exchange for money or the promise of payment.

The investigation connected the killing to an ongoing conflict between Noble and another Dallas rapper, Markies Conway, professionally known as Yella Beezy, according to prosecutors.

Authorities identified White as the gunman after examining surveillance footage, witness statements, digital evidence, cellphone records, jail calls and financial records.

White is the first of several defendants expected to face trial in connection with the case.

The prosecution was led by Tommy Adams, with Krystal Biggins serving as second chair. Prosecutors Marissa Hatchett and Ric Vela also worked on the case, along with investigators and staff from the Dallas County District Attorney's Office.

The investigation involved the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas.
