Goodman Gets 13th Win as Irving fends off Trinity's late push, wins 6-5

Trinity wasn't able to come back from the big hole it dug itself into against Irving, and Trinity lost 6-5 to Irving after falling behind by three runs in the fifth inning.Trinity scored on an RBI single by Courtney Briggars and an error in the fifth inning and a groundout by Lizzy Wood in the sixth inning. Despite its efforts, Trinity couldn't get over the hump.

Madison Goodman had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. She singled in the third and fourth innings and doubled in the first and sixth innings.  This raised her season average to .409.

McKensie Goodman got the win for Irving. McKensie Goodman struck out five, walked one and gave up 11 hits. She has 13 wins on the season with 105 strikeouts.

Irving jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Daisy Martinez singled, bringing home Madison Goodman after a double by Madison Goodman got things started.

After a quick strike from Irving, Trinity responded with one run in the first. Trinity scored on an error.The lead stayed with Irving after the third, when it scored two runs on a sacrifice fly by Morgan Wang and an RBI single by Melissa Hantelmann.Trinity scored one run in the third inning, and then followed it up with one more in the sixth. In the third, Trinity scored on a solo home run by Shelbie Hughes. Irving scored one run in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth. In the fourth, Irving scored on an RBI double by Ariana Garcia, scoring Madison Goodman.
