Slain Irving woman was stabbed multiple times

Police are investigating after a woman was found slain inside her Irving home.

An autopsy revealed that the victim, 60-year-old Rosemary Milazzo, suffered multiple stab wounds, police said Thursday. 

Police were called to Milazzo's home Wednesday night in the 2400 block of West 11th Street by the victim's worried co-worker.

A search warrant affidavit says the co-worker spoke with Milazzo earlier Wednesday morning, but Milazzo didn't show up for work.       

The co-worker went to Milazzo's home and saw Milazzo's SUV parked out front. 

When no one answered the front door, the co-worker went to the back door and saw blood on the floor through a window.

Police said they had not gotten any 911 calls from the home previously. 

Milazzo's neighbor, John Peeples, who lives across the street, is concerned by the killing, saying nothing like this has ever happened in the 50 years he's been there.  

"It's always been just a nice, nice, quiet neighborhood,” he said. “It's changed a lot here lately. You know a lot of people moving in and out, but they've been over here about 25 years.” 

Peeples says he was home all afternoon Wednesday and was even out raking his lawn and didn't see or hear anything.  

Police were back out canvassing the neighborhood again pursuing leads Wednesday morning.
