January Athletes of the Month: Megan McKenyon and Anthony Benavente
Megan McKenyon & Anthony Benavente
Megan McKenyon, sophomore at Singley Academy, and Anthony Benavente, senior at Irving High, have been named Irving ISD Athletes of the Month for January.
 
McKenyon is returning to gymnastics at the varsity level for Irving High following elbow surgery. She is also president of Family, Career & Community Leaders of America and is a student ambassador at Singley Academy.
 
Benavente has a 21-3 season record on the Irving High Boys’ Wrestling Team, and has placed in the top two in every tournament for the season. A captain on the wrestling team, Benavente also plays on the Irving High Football Team.
