MacArthur guard Ayriel Anderson Signs with Texas State

MacArthur's 5'4" point guard, Ayriel Anderson, has signed her national letter of intent with Texas State University in San Marcos.

The Texas State Bobcats compete in the Southland Conference (NCAA Division I) and had a 9-20 record last season. 

“Aryiel is a dynamic point guard that can score,” Bobcats' head coach Zenarae Antoine said. “She loves the game and is a fierce competitor. With the addition of Ayriel we bring depth to the point guard position and a scorer on the perimeter.”

Ayriel was named Offensive Player of the Year in 2010-11 along with being named to the 5A All-Tournament team. She was also named to the Top-50 list of the best players in Texas by Premierbasketballreport.com.

“We call Ayriel our energizer bunny,” MacArthur head coach Suzie Oelschlegel said. “I love her passion for the game. She gets everyone fired up and when you give her an assignment you know it's going to get done. On the court she's really improved her ability to hit the three. She made some big shots in the state tournament and we couldn't be prouder of her.”
