Person Fatally Shot Inside Plano Home, Suspect Flees Before Police Arrive

PLANO, Texas - A person was shot and killed inside a Plano home Sunday night, and police are searching for a suspect who fled before officers arrived.

Plano police and Plano Fire-Rescue responded around 10:15 p.m. Sept. 13 to a reported shooting in the 1100 block of Lakestream Drive.

Officers entered the residence and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Plano Fire-Rescue personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Police have not released the victim's identity pending notification of family.

Other family members were inside the home when the shooting occurred but were not injured, according to police.

Investigators said the suspect left the scene in an unknown vehicle before officers arrived. Police have not released the suspect's identity or a description of the vehicle.

Preliminary information indicates the victim and suspect knew each other. Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and said there was no known ongoing threat to the public.

The Plano Police Department's Crimes Against Persons Unit is investigating.

UPDATE:  The suspect died after a pursuit on Monday, September 14th.
