New Irving Convenience Center Offers Residents Free Drop-Off for Trash, Brush and More

IRVING, Texas - Irving residents have a new option for disposing of household trash, brush, yard waste and other materials with the opening of a Convenience Center at the Hunter Ferrell Landfill in South Irving.

The center, located at 110 E. Hunter Ferrell Road, allows eligible Irving residents to dispose of several types of waste at no charge.

Accepted materials include household trash weighing less than 150 pounds, loose leaves and grass clippings, clean brush, recyclable materials and materials such as dirt, brick and gravel.

Residents must provide both a photo ID and proof of Irving residency to use the Convenience Center. The addresses on the documents must match.

Accepted photo identification includes a driver's license or state-issued ID. Residents can establish proof of residency with a current City of Irving utility bill, either paper or digital, or a current lease.

Part of Irving's effort to reduce illegal dumping

The new Convenience Center also gives residents another way to properly dispose of unwanted materials as Irving works to combat litter and illegal dumping.

Residents who see illegal dumping can report it to the Irving Police Department's nonemergency line at 972-273-1010 or through the city's Report a Concern service.

The city has also launched its Don't Trash Irving initiative, a citywide anti-litter campaign aimed at reducing trash along Irving roads, waterways, neighborhoods and green spaces.

The campaign focuses on public awareness and education while encouraging residents to properly dispose of waste rather than leaving it along streets or in other public areas.
